When I was in high school, my dad threatened to chase my boyfriend with a baseball bat after he had the nerve to drop me off passed curfew with the car music blasting. This memorable experience came after he found me in my prior boyfriend’s car (doing nothing more than staring at each other) in a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot at 2 AM. Either I have horrible fucking luck with cars, or my dad was a tad protective. Since budding actress Maude Apatow is at the ripe and awkward age of 18, I had to know if her parents Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow give her the same humiliating treatment.
But I don’t know, guys, it seems being famous makes you lax AF.
That, or Leslie and Judd are the coolest ever. Maude says her parents are straight chillin’ when she brings someone home. That could be, though, because she has a stand-up guy to bring home. Unlike most of us at 18, who brought home braindead football jocks and premature ejaculators with fake IDs. Glory days, amiright?
My parents didn’t even allow my boyfriends to be in my bedroom in high school. At 25, I feel like that rule would still be going strong. Still, I wouldn’t change a thing. Their old-school charm puts my standards (and men) in check, as I’m over here like…
Deal with it.
Were your parents a little cray like mine, or did they kick it Judd and Leslie style? Either way, loving parents come in many forms and being cool is just a state of mind.
^ Point proven.
