Talk To Me Taylor

‘Moana’s Auli’i Carvalho Helps Me Prove We’re More Than Instagram

in Body, My Selfie Stick, Personal, We Are More on 05/01/17

Selena Gomez recently said girls “are more than an Instagram like.” Ain’t that the damn truth. But feeling that is easier said than done. Turns out, lots of girls, famous or not, are feeling the pressure to rack in the likes every single day. (Which, after a slow and brutal process, I FINALLY stopped giving a crap about.) But that feeling is always lingering, and we’re feeling it. Here, I talk to the beautiful star or Moana, Auli’i Carvalho, about it.

Did I mention Auli’i is only 16?

Her wisdom, positivity, and spirit is damn near contagious, something girls and women of all ages could learn from and feel inspired by. While having Auli’i take part in my social media initiative #WeAreMore, which proves we’re more than a label or a photo, lsh admitted even she feels the harsh influence from the internet at such a young age.

Watch Auli’i let go and show her true self, a piece of her that social media may not always allow her to reveal. As Auli’i says, Instagram models are beautiful, but “so are we.”
