What’s everyone’s problem with hickeys? I don’t live under a rock most days, I know that hickey is synonymous with tacky. But have you ever taken a long, hard look in the mirror and wondered: why?
BuzzFeed calls them an “abomination” and says anyone giving them over the age of 17 can and will be heavily judged. And when you Google hickeys, you’ll see that most articles provide solutions for getting rid of them quickly. What’s your damage, internet?

I’m not saying I’m a love bite enthusiast, I really just want to question our behavior and get down to the facts here.
Do we know the source of society deeming all hickeys as tacky? When did this revelation come about? What about them makes people so repulsed? Is it because hickeys are associated with sloppy teenagers? So is drunkenly hooking up with your platonic childhood friend, and that rep is holding up just fine these days.
My point is: Why do we hate hickeys so much? Besides giving you a good time, what did they do to deserve such shitty treatment anyway?
