I am in no way ready to be pregnant right now. I lose my shit when I accidentally get logged out of my aunt’s Netflix account, never mind having to deal with a screaming child. But I actually cannot fucking wait to be pregnant.
Weird? Maybe.
I had Maya Rudolph, who has four kids, chime in.
And after my brief chat with Maya, I actually got to thinking: We’re kind of skewed when it comes to pregnancy. Right? Like, a woman’s dream is to settle down and be a mom at a young age isn’t nearly as admirable or praised as a woman whose dream is to travel, explore different types of men, start a business, etc.
“Living your life” is often synonymous with the latter.
But who’s to say which trajectory provides a fuller life? And I’ll be honest, as much as I can’t wait to be pregnant and settle down, I feel like I’d be missing out if I did so now at 26. HOWEVER, while I don’t think I’m quite ready for life in the suburbs, living on the edge ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. (The struggle, it’s real.)
ALSO
Because there’s always an also: I want to hear from the guys who can’t wait to be dads. I know you’re out there even if you don’t feel like you can say it.
