Selenis Levya, AKA my Latina lover, is a Cuba native and badass actress. Don’t let her Orange Is the New Black character fool you. She’s the sweetest and game to talk about anything out on the red carpet. Coincidentally, I saw Selenis for the second time just a few days after having a special conversation with my dear friend Jason. Jason is half-Mexican, half-white. And you see, Jason is looking for a certain type of girl.
When interrogating my friend about his dream girl (because what other hobbies are there?), he claimed white girls just don’t have that same spicy pizazz he loves in Latina girls. He insinuated that if white girls do have spice, it just doesn’t amount to the that of a Latina. I needed input and couldn’t think of anyone better than Selenis.
So, I asked this proud Latina to give her thoughts on the matter and reveal if Latina spice is just a stereotype. And I wanted to know from her:
Are white girls not spicy enough?
Of course, attitude and sass can be damn near hereditary. Speaking as an Italian Jew, you don’t want to fuck with us. But as Selenis points out, it isn’t wise for a man to assume a woman will be a certain level of spicy because of her ethnicity. We can all be as spicy as we want to be, honey. And the more spice you use, more power to you.
And rather than competing to be spicier than one another for whatever reason, women should cheer each other on to bring out the sass and give these guys a run for their money.
