I think we can all agree that dating, for millennials, is about as enjoyable and enlightening as watching paint dry. Being famous (also surrounded by the hottest young guys on the planet) doesn’t change that. I caught up with a few of the Scream Queens ladies and twenty-somethings, Billie Lourd and Abigail Breslin, at PaleyFest in LA last year. That day, I realized the following:
We are all one in thinking dating is a goddamn nightmare.
The Red Devil is as welcoming as a small puppy compared to the idea of sitting down with a stranger for an hour, even if it means getting a free meal. Bonafide millennials Billie and Abigail agree. I feel that AF, which is why I just don’t do it. Here I am on a date:
I wouldn’t wish the dating struggle upon anyone. Literally, no one. Still, I have to admit it’s refreshing to see these women my age deal with the same shitty guys and situations that my friends and I face, too. The godly Ryan Murphy and a hit TV show could protect these ladies to some degree, yes. But douchebags and frustrating miscommunication will somehow still prevail. No one is safe, and I hope you take comfort in that.
Get your life and embrace your new spirit animals. Also feel free to aggressively throw your phone ridden with unbearable Tinder messages across the room. Starting… now.
