Ty Dolla Sign is really damn proud of being a dad. Like, the proudest. And it’s honestly really sweet. When I gave him the #WeAreMore mission, proving why we’re all more than our image and first impressions, he selflessly chose to tell the world about his first love: his daughter. He’s been the first celeb who made their answer about their family, not just them. And not only did he want the world to know he’s a dad, but the BEST dad. His young daughter Jailynn was even there on the red carpet to stand by him. Obviously, at first impression, this notion seems to be at odds with a badass, tattooed rapper’s image.

But we are more than labels, after all.
His passion and pride in being a dad may even translate to his music. I admit, I had a notion about rappers in my head from their tough exteriors and lyrics. Call me naive, but the majority of rap songs I’ve heard dealt with getting with women and partying. But it’s not right of me, or anyone, to put them in a box because of it.
