Why ‘HTGAWM’s Jack Falahee Is Reluctant to Make the First Move

But ah, yes of course: Celebs, they’re you and me. Just with a healthier pay grade. And although the 27-year-old is one of the coolest and talented dudes you’ll meet in Hollywood right now, his ego is affected none. His HTGAWM character Connor is the suavest SOB you’ve ever encountered, but in real life, Jack says he actually gets super self-conscience when it comes to flirting and making the first move.

Who knew?

“I’m pretty self-conscience,” he says. “I don’t think I’m very good at [flirting].” And when it comes to approaching that hottie at the bar, would he do it? “No, probably not.” I’ll tell you what, though. He sure can deliver a mean pick-up line. You’ll have to watch the video for that goodness.

But after speaking with Jack and fellow actor Ryan Guzman about what they’re like in the dating scene, I realize some of these stars are so much humbler than we give them credit for. Because I’ll admit it:

I assume 99.9% of young, successful actors think they’re the shiz and then some. Don’t you?

But here are Jack and Ryan, two good-looking actors totally on their game, and they aren’t egotistical maniacs. And with Jack admitting his everyday insecurities, I’m proven wrong in the best way.
