I won’t lie, I haven’t even seen Whiplash and I’m still a little scared of J.K. Simmons. I’ve heard too much. C’mon, after watching J.K. in films like Whiplash, La La Land and Patriot’s Day, wouldn’t you agree? The guy means business in all of his roles. His serious stature and deep voice alone make me want to stay on his good side at. all. times. But as proven through the #WeAreMore movement, people (and celebrities), are much more than the public persona we’ve carved out for them.

Turns out, in his private life, J.K. is the exact opposite of what I assumed he’d be.
The 61-year-old dad of two teens is intimidating, yes, but he’s also a big teddy bear. When asking the Oscar winner what he’s really like behind closed doors, turns out he just wants to cuddle. Strictly with family, but still. Point proven: We’re all more than what people take us for at surface-level.
