Talk To Me Taylor

Viola Davis Crushes #WeAreMore by Surprising Everyone

in My Selfie Stick, Personal, We Are More on 01/11/17

If you haven’t seen Annalise Keating in action on How to Get Away With Murder, let me brief you. She’s one of the baddest bitches on primetime, and you do not want to play with her. Her real-life counterpart, Viola Davis, is also a boss in every sense of the word.

Clearly.

Viola is a fierce trailblazer who takes her craft seriously (and probably doesn’t take anyone’s crap in the process). Familiar with her work or not (and if not, how dare you?), the stats speak for themselves. This year alone, she has a few nominations under her belt for her role in the drama Fences. She’s a SAG, Critics’ Choice, and Emmy Award winner, and did I mention Viola made history as the first black woman to take the Emmy for Best Drama Actress? I’m slain.

From The Help to Suicide Squad, Viola has made dramas her bitch, so it’s no wonder why people would associate that tough exterior to her real-life persona.

But in taking the #WeAreMore challenge, Viola proves she’s more than her on-screen image and even her larger-than-life accomplishments.

While laughing with her husband by her side on the red carpet, Viola tells me she’s opposite of the person many would assume her to be: She’s a damn good time. The video above proves it. “We always bring the fun, I’m serious,” she says. Annalise Keating is life of the party. Who knew?

Case in point: We’re more than our photos, our “image,” and who people think we are in this social media-obsessed culture.

Now it’s your turn to prove it.

Join me, Viola, and other celebs by showing your worth and posting your photo describing who you really are in a word, using #WeAreMore, tag @strippingdowncelebs.

It’s time.
