I can’t think of a better time than Halloween to talk about how truly insignificant it is to put so much weight on looking sexy. Sexiness isn’t always T&A—it’s confidence, remember? And The Odd Couple‘s Yvette Nicole Brown has confidence aplenty about her most significant traits, ones that’ll actually last a lifetime. Realer-than-real Yvette will leave you inspired AF. She puts her thoughts out there point-blank with very little fucks, and I’m living.
“Sexy is vapor, it comes and goes.”
A very true yet bold statement to make. Especially in the center of Hollywood, nonetheless. I might just print that out and put it on my wall. Idk.
And of course I encourage everyone to be feeling themselves, always. Maybe it’s because of a tight, cute little number with some cleavage action. Or because that booty is au naturale and you’re proud to serve it. Whatever it is, do it to it, baby. But when you put looks before your brains or soul, caught up in the Insta-hoopla? We have a problem here.
Yvette is one of the few celebs I’ve met who refuses to let her mind be overshadowed by her looks or body. And she’s not at all timid about admitting she just doesn’t feel like the “hot” girl. She never has. “Other girls look at themselves at get excited about how hot they are,” she says.
“I’m just not that girl.”
And that’s OK! So go forth, flaunt that brain, and every now and then you may be in the corner like…
Not judging.
